Boyd is a two-time premiership player for and co-captain of the Sydney Roosters. In 2011, Cordner made his NRL debut when he was only 19. Since then Boyd has enjoyed a successful career with the Roosters, playing over 150 games to date, performing well enough to earn him captaincy of the NSW state of origin team.
Originally from Taree, New South Wales, Boyd and his older brother were brought up by their single father after losing his mother to cancer when he was just 4. He has played rugby since he was a schoolboy at St. Clare’s High School and was recruited by the Sydney Roosters in 2009 to play for their under-20s team.
Boyd’s career is highlighted by his match-winning try in the 2017 NRL World Cup against England and being awarded man of the match in that same final.
