The AFL’s first Sudanese-born player, Daw could be the catalyst for a whole new generation of African players. At 194 centimetres and boasting outstanding athleticism, the Kangaroos took the promising Daw at pick 9 in the 2009 NAB AFL Rookie Draft after an impressive season with the Western Jets. In first two years with the Kangaroos, Daw has shown remarkable improvement with VFL outfit Werribee and has made his AFL debut in 2013, joining an illustrious group of AFL players to kick a goal in their first AFL game.
