My name is Shayna jack and I’m an Australian representative in Swimming. I have a bubbly, fun personality and really feel I make a difference in and out of the swimming community as a role model and inspiration for children to young adults of how to deal with change and challenges, big or small, in their life. A large part of what I do on a day-to-day basis involves engaging with supporters and fans to share my experiences to help shape the future.
I made my first Australian Team in 2017 for the World Championship where I won 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. I competed at my first Commonwealth Games in 2018 on the Gold Coast. Winning a gold medal in the 4x100 freestyle relay team with a World Record and 4th in my individual 100 and 50 freestyle.
In 2019 I was hit with a massive change to my sporting career. I was accused of using a performance enhancing substance. This being completely inaccurate, my whole world was turned upside down and I was thrown into an unknown world of lawyers, politics and thrown out of the only world I knew, in which was swimming. Throughout this process I learnt a lot about myself, my passion for swimming, my determination, mental health and how important a positive mind set can be. Now I am doing everything I can to prove my innocence and get back to doing what I love and where I deserve to be.
