Cult figure hero James Sicily has established himself as one of the best rebounding defenders in the AFL.
2019 was Sicily’s most consistent season to date; playing in every possible game, he averaged 21 disposals, six rebound 50s and seven marks, on his way to being selected in the extended All Australian squad.
Sicily’s best was on display in a clinical performance against the Pies in Round, as he notched up 28 disposals and seven rebound 50s, on his way to nabbing three Brownlow votes.
Now entering the prime of his career, Hawks fans will be eager to watch more courageous spoils and long-bomb goals from Sicily in the future.
Sicily agreed to a 5-year contract extension with Hawthorn, tying him to the club until at least the end of 2027
